The current tools are Red / Black two-tone like the one above.
There are plenty of tools out there to load or strip moon clips. This is the only tool out there that does both. Stop hurting your fingers. It is CNC machined out of aluminum and hard anodized. Mooncliptools are made in the USA by a machinist who is an avid shooter.
If you own a S&W 45 ACP revolver or any other revolver that uses moonclips you need one.
Place the moon clip on the arbor and use the lever to load the round into the clip. The lever has a spring return for easy one hand operation.

The other end of the tool with the ring is for stripping the clips. There is a recess cut that the moon clip bears against that gives you a huge mechanical advantage. The casing is pryed out and then drops through the hole.

The tool was originally designed for just .45 ACP. It has since been re-designed to also work with the other popular moonclip calibers. The lever now has more clearance. The geometry has been tweaked. There are now two postions for the arbor so it can be moved closer to the lever. The outer postion is for N/K/L frame moonclips and the inner position is for J frame moonclips. There is also a hole near the demooning end of the moonclip where you can store a spare arbor.
The demooning part of the tool has 2 demooning rings. The larger ring on the left is for .45 ACP. The smaller ring on the right is for .40 caliber and under where the rounds are more closely spaced in the moonclip.

Note: One of our competitors with an inferior tool has stolen our design rather than trying to improve his own. While copying our tool may be the sincerest form of flattery, using the pictures and descriptions off my website was not. Trying to sell the copy as a genuine mooncliptool and leech of our reputation was crossing the line. The knock-off looks similar but it is not the same internally. Arbors for other Calibers / Revolvers
If you own a revolver that uses moonclips in a caliber other than 45 ACP, you can change the to a different diameter arbor and use the tool for that caliber also. The tool comes with one arbor (caliber of your choice). You only need to buy an extra arbor if you want to use your tool with more than one caliber. I currently stock arbors for the following:
